Shmoop, a company that dedicates itself to creating digital resources for students in an effort to help them learn subjects more easily and see how they relate to their daily lives, has won a prodigious tech award – the Award of Excellence from the Tech & Learning magazine that is renowned in the technology world.
The decision came after 30 educators looked into the work that Shmoop does and decided that the popular teaching aide company should receive the award that is held in high esteem among those inside and outside the technology sector. Indeed, it was also a first choice in the Best Upgraded Products category for the way in which it continually updates its learning system and products so that they stay relevant with modern youth. The editorial director for NewBay Media’s Tech & Learning Group, Kevin Hogan, admitted that they were not looking for a company that gave off ‘bells and whistles’ but rather an organization that continually worked for the greater good of combining technology and education and no-one can deny that Shmoop has achieved this over the years of its existence.
Over 150 different products were tested and analyzed in the selection process and it was the California based company that came out on top. Experts, educators and even convicted felons (under the 72 hours of web writing stipulation) are all responsible for making Shmoop a success and with a prodigious award in the bag and countless accolades for their work it doesn’t look as if they will be slowing down anytime soon.
